Overview



Changsha is a world-renowned ancient historic city. The name of "Changsha" could be dated back to the West Zhou Dynasty of more than 3000 years ago. It is an importanant city in the Chu State as well as a famous prefecture in the Qin Dynasty. Changsha is one of the first famous historic and cultural cities in China because of its long history. Changsha is a famous cultural city rich in talent and excellent in civilization. Changsha has a long history of civilization and splendid ancient culture, and a great number of age-old graves and historical relics spread all over the city. Thanks to its long history, Changsha boasts a large number of scenic spots and historical sites, among which the historical sites including Yuelu Academy, Mawangdui, Kaifu Temple, and Tianxin Pavilion etc are best-known. Famous scenic spots include Mt. Yuelu, Martyr Memorial Park, and Orange Island etc.
