Ji’an is always referred to as “the city of writings and etiquettes” and "Wangjun south of the Long River” (Wangjun is a city of Anhui province famous for its large number of men of letters in ancient China). It is 200 kilometers south of Nanchang -the provincial capital of Jiangxi. Located in the center of Jitai Basin, it is encircled by mountains on the three sides of east south and west. Thus its terrain is lower from south to north and from west and east towards the central region. A lot of famous historic and cultural sites were passed down due to its long history and splendid culture, Bailu Zhou（the Egret Sandbar）,Qingyuan Mountain, the relics of the ancient kiln in Jizhou, the memorial hall in memory of Wen Tianxiang, Yusi Mountain(or the Jade Suitcase Mountain), and the White Narcissus Scenic Spot ,the Cradle of Chinese Revolution –the Jinggang Mountain, to name just a fewhe center of politics, economy and culture of the whole district.
